The 2020 Kentucky high school football season is right around the corner, and Southern Kentucky Preps — powered by Ken Waddell – Realtor, RE/MAX — is gearing up for the start of the campaign by previewing each of the 12 teams in its coverage area. 

One team will be previewed each day from Aug. 31-Sept. 11. Yesterday, we took a look at Warren East. Today, we break down Warren Central.

School: Warren Central

Mascot: Dragons

Head Coach: Cary Fowler (2nd season)

KHSAA Class: 4A, District 2

2019 Results: 0-10 overall, 0-4 Class 4A, District 2

Preview: Warren Central comes into the 2020 season still searching for its first win since Oct. 16, 2015 — a streak of 45 consecutive losses — and will look to the experience it has coming back to lead the way in trying to accomplish the goal. The Dragons, led by second-year head coach Cary Fowler, return quarterback Trenton Leach, running back Deangelo Patterson, defensive end Amario Wilson and a handful of other players that have had valuable time on the field and will hold important leadership roles this year. Central opens its slate at home against crosstown foe Greenwood and will play six total games at Joe Hood Field this season.
