South Warren hires Jason Holland as head boys’ basketball coach

South Warren has found its next head boys’ basketball coach.

Jason Holland, who’s served as a coach for 11 years and held four previous head coaching jobs, has been named the Spartans’ head coach, the school announced in a press release Thursday afternoon.

Holland, who’s also served as an educator for 19 years, has held previous head coaching stints at Henry County, Oldham County, Montgomery County and Shelby County.

While at Oldham County from 2009-2013, Holland’s teams combined an overall record of 92-38 and won over 20 games in three consecutive seasons. He led the Colonels to back-to-back Region 8 championships and trips to the Boys’ Sweet Sixteen in both 2011 and 2012.

Holland has won multiple Coach of the Year awards and has had over 20 players go on to play at the collegiate level.

Holland replaces Blane Embry — who stepped down in March — and is the program’s sixth head coach since the school opened in 2010.
