Kaleb Matlock was in the zone last Thursday night.
A sophomore guard for the Warren East boys’ basketball team, Matlock scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Raiders to a 76-72 win over Monroe County in their regular-season finale at Raider Gym and has been named the Med Center Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Male Athlete of the Week.
Matlock shot 6-of-9 (66.7%) from the field and 3-of-4 (75%) from 3-point range in the victory. He also went a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-throw line.
Matlock, who is averaging 10.5 points per game, and the Raiders open postseason play on Monday in the opening round of the District 14 Tournament. They’ll meet South Warren at 7:30 p.m. at SWHS.
