Warren Central enters the 2019-20 high school basketball season with one main goal in mind: capturing another Region 4 championship.
The Dragons, who have won back-to-back region titles, will be led by an experienced and talented senior class of 11 players and have the pieces they need in order to make a third straight trip to the Sweet 16 in Lexington.
While Central lost guards Tayshaun Bibb, Jamale Barber and Tre Pillow to graduation, it returns quite a stellar core — highlighted by guards Kobe Brents, Dre Boyd, Tegra Muleka, Kamden Lawrence and Geovonni Floyd and forward Antonio Barbee.
In addition to that crew, the Dragons also have a handful of others — and a promising freshman class — they’re excited about.
Coach William Unseld:
“I think we have a chance to be really good. Have a lot of talent and experience coming back and the guys have had a good offseason. I’ve been most proud of how they attacked the weight room in the offseason. Goal is to be ready for Wayne County on December 3rd and continue to get better throughout the season and be a tough out come tournament time.”
